Whoops... Forgot to include these in the previous post.

Not sure if we can include this as a candidate for neckline peg. Might be a bit too deep and the diagonal lines a bit too obvious for the delicate lace it'll be paired with. Hmmm...

If we're going with the top you drew, this is an example of how I would prefer it not to look. The chest area seems too large (droopy) in the photo, not sure why.

Picture #1 seems to have a decent neckline (plus it has a frilly lace bottom, more over-the-top with the lace -- a tad too much for my taste -- than what we have, which is just right for me :D). The waist sits a bit too low lang. What do you think?

Just saw how this actress' dress top twists and knots. It seems pretty although a bit too low (she has a full chest to support it anyhoo, good for her).

I guess that's all I have to add for now. :)

Hello, deeesigner (as Tim Gunn says it, just sans the s)! :D

Welcome to my mishmashed blog just for wedding purposes. I'm a lazy blogger and journal-keeper. Heehee...

Posting in the blog now since it's easier to arrange my thoughts along with the pix (compared to sending an email). Please forgive the very bullet-point way I present things.

ZEH PRETTY PEGS

Will have to find something smaller for my smaller frame (and head). But the hue is nice.

Not sure if this is how I want to fix my hair. Will it go well with the dress?

A bit longer veil hopefully. Having it end above the mouth seems bothersome. And maybe will just stick to 1 flower. Having 3 seems a bit over the top. :)

We're totally doing away with this peg already? Just including it in case you have an epiphany about it (or work with the lace we have to add it on top -- just thinking out loud, although I've no clear idea on how that will go). :D

And the main one. I wonder if we should follow the "belt" here. Oh confuzzling!

Anyhoo, just wanted to send you some lovely photos from the internet also as points for clarification...

FABRIC

Are you going to use this sort of fabric for the main dress, beneath the lace? Or just stick to the main peg above?

NECKLINE

Here's an assortment of necklines I found on various dresses:

I guess this one has a good not-so-sweetheartish curve (and not too deep in the middle either). Not sure if it has that twisty thing you were talking about. What do you think?

This one has more of a plunge in the middle (compared to the pic on top, although it still seems pretty decent). I'm thinking, out of all the photos here, this has the right silhouette for the top that you're after for me. Tama ba? Parang "just right" yung pagkaka-cut between the top and bottom. Not as wide for the skirt lang ata. What do you think?

Too sweetheart-y? It does seem to have those textured lines on the chest area though...

The top seems a bit too horizontal. Not sure if it'd be a good match for me (and my insecure concerns, hahaha). Just included it in the mix in case you have comments about it.

BELT STYLE

I guess the color of the belt will have to be determined by whatever the fiance's tie's color will be. We ought to be able to settle it by next month. Anyhoo, I think that detail can follow after settling other dress parts first. :D

Not sure what size/width belt you had in mind, so I'm posting some pix below:

Different dress style, so it might not really be a good peg. I guess this is a mid-size belt. The peach hue of the accent is nice though.

Again, this photo. Not sure where the belt starts and ends (in terms of height), but I'm pretty sure it's there.

I guess this is also medium-sized. Not sure if sparkly is a good thing for our final product.

What would you reco? Too bad the dresses don't have shots of how they look from the back. I'm just certain I don't want a ribbon or bow design anywhere near me. :P

Hen Sunday - 2

Off we went to Rustan's to continue our search. It's crazy -- slim pickings at a huge department store. Good thing we had cupcakes first to give us our happy sugar rush:

We found only one dress to fit the requirements there:

On the hanger, I didn't like the middle part of the dress. But while I was wearing it, I saw how it actually gave the dress more character. Sort of reminds me of art deco...:

The dress is a size 8 (smallest one left). It needs alterations, if ever:

I love the skirt of this dress (see how it drapes nicely at the bottom? :D) Very elegant. I will need to learn how to walk in it without stumbling if I do get this one:

Truth be told, it's only with this dress (so far) that I got a "DIZIZIT!" moment. What's stopping me? The price tag. It's waaaaaaaay over my budget even if it's already on sale (last piece -- boo!)

The price is P8K more than if I got a budding local designer to create a gown for me (although I think she'd scream since she has less than 6 months to work on it if I did get her services).

Thoughts? Suggestions? Recommendations?

Hen Sunday - 1

This is the first time I went dress-hunting with two of my closest friends, I and K. Although I've been feeling pretty blah about the whole search process, they made it quite fun and exciting. (Thanks, gehls!) We trooped to two malls to find good candidates for the dress.

Strangely, even though prom season's pretty recent, most shops weren't selling long gowns or dresses. Anyway, here's the first one I tried on from a shop at The Ramp:

It's an M dress, that's why it didn't fit well...:

...and K had to hold on to the back of the dress to give it more shape. Hahaha!:

Too flowery? I'm of the opinion it made me look smaller, like a cake topper. Hehehe...

Frankendress

These pictures aren't meant to show one dress.

For the green one, I'm liking the style of the top. The dress IS cute, but it's not very wedding-y. So I was thinking of getting the top portion and matching it with a different, longer bottom. Suggestions?







As for the bronze one, I'm liking the electric pleating. There's something very elegant about it. Wish it were one length though instead of having a strange, shorter length at the front and back. Anyway, sideview-wise, it looks good.











Thoughts? Opinions? Should I go ahead and meet with the designer/owner and see what ideas they can offer? As for the price, it will fall between 6K to 10K depending on the material and complexity of design. Ahaaay! Help!

P.S. Oh yeah, I had to bring CH along since the rest of the girl friends weren't available and I was afraid the short dress wouldn't be around long (they only have 2 versions of it -- the other one was snapped up fast). I needed someone to take pix. Hehehe...

A Happy Coincidence

Today, CH and I went to our suking alahera to return the rough-finish rings. She did a great job preliminarily. Hope the final output will be awesome!

Anyway, while we were chitchatting, our jeweler R asks us how our preps are going. I tell her that I still don't have anything to wear. R then mentions that she actually has a wedding gown in her possession (new, never worn) that she bought in the US on a whim. It was on sale, a Jessica McClintock (dunno if I got the spelling right), and she was thinking of using the dress as a design for her soon-to-be-opened jewelry shop in Makati. Anyway, she asks what my budget is, I tell her it's P5,000 hopefully. So far, most other shops and designers have no such gown or dress in that price range. Well, she tells me she's willing to sell this gown to me for P3,000. OH MY!

But, of course, I still have to think about the fit and cost of alterations and dry-cleaning that the dress would need. Now, I need to field opinions, and that's where you come in. I've posted pix taken by my good friend Ia (at her place). She happily helped me clip it to see how it would look if the dress fit well.

At the moment, only the waist and hips are well-suited to my frame. The dress' torso is too long (plus the chest size is meant for those with bigger booomz, if you catch my drift).

So, thoughts? Should I get it for P3000?

To date, I haven't found any other dress that's already complete and ready to try on that's within the budget. The nearest I found was in Greenbelt3, but it cost P10,000 and it made me look tiny. Strange.

Ahaaay! So is this it? What do you think? DO LET ME KNOW!

OK, I'm back to blogger. But only for a while. I couldn't post this part of the wed plans on the wedsite since CH and I have agreed on surprising him as to what I'm wearing for the big day. :)
